Premature Ejaculation Spray

by John Romano

You may have heard of premature ejaculation medication or even premature ejaculation cream.  However, did you know there was also a spray available?  Premature ejaculation spray was the focus of Science Daily (April 8, 2009).  The article stated that a new topical spray allowed men keep their erections six times longer than normal.

The study was initially reported in BJU International.

Three hundred men from various countries who suffered from premature ejaculation participated in the study.  Two hundred men used the “PSD502” spray while the other 100 used a placebo spray with no active ingredients.  The “fun” part if this scientific study revealed that all the men who used the spray increased their climax time from an average of 0.6 minutes to 3.8 minutes.

The placebo group of men only reported a 1.1 minute increase (which does give some hope to those who say PE is largely psychological).

What is this premature ejaculation spray?

The report stated that it contained the primary drugs lidocaine and prilocaine, drugs known for their anesthetic effects.  Given that an estimated 40% of the male population suffers from this condition (and assuming the other 60% aren’t always honest about this sort of thing) such a proven breakthrough would indeed be exciting news to men who suffer from sexual over-excitement.

At this point, testing work is still preliminary, but it looks promising considering that no major side effects were reported.  The most common objections to premature ejaculation spray or topical cream (which contains the same drugs) are that men deaden the sensation in their bodies and thus miss out on the pleasure of intercourse.

Is this not counterproductive behavior?

If we’re to believe the Science Daily story then it might be just a matter of time before premature ejaculation spray is improved to the point that there is no discernible difference in a man’s penis with or without the anesthesia.

Until then conclusive evidence arises however, it should be noted that some premature ejaculation creams cause numbness which takes away from the overall experience.  Furthermore, some of these creams can affect the female partner as well.  Before choosing any premature ejaculation spray, try and read reviews on the medication taking note of any possible side effects.

Another possibility to look into is learning premature ejaculation techniques, in favor of using sprays or creams.  Some doctors and therapists believe that premature ejaculation is a psychological condition, and usually caused by inexperience, anxiety and a sexually frustrating routine.

Mastering some techniques, such as the Masters and Johnson squeeze, PC-muscle exercises and others, might be able to help a man retain control over his body.

If you are looking for solutions to this problem, then consider talking to your doctor.

Don’t worry…doctors hear stuff like this all the time.  The main concern here would be choosing a premature ejaculation spray that doesn’t interact with any preexisting medical condition or any other drugs/supplements inside your body.  As long as the doctor states that the drug is safe for your health profile, then you should feel free to experiment with different medications.  What works for some, might not work for others.  In the end, it’s all about what makes you and your partner happy.
